  • Increase hotel tax from 1.75% to 2% (total 17% with all taxes)

Proposition B - New Downtown Spurs Arena

Amount: $311 million (county portion of $1.3 billion total)

  • Create "Project Marvel" sports and entertainment district
  • Increase hotel tax from 1.75% to 2% (total 17% with all taxes)
  • Extend rental car tax at 5% for 30 years

Why We Recommend Voting NO:

💰 Tax Burden on Working Families

Increases hotel and rental car taxes that disproportionately affect lower and middle-class taxpayers who travel for work or family needs.

📈 More Debt for Our Community

Adds $503 million in new debt over 30 years, putting our city and county deeper into financial obligations.

⏰ Wrong Timing

This is not the right time for such massive spending. Let's wait until our local economy is stronger and growing.

🏢 Big Business vs. Taxpayers

This is big business interests versus the taxpayers - we the people deserve better than subsidizing professional sports teams.

🚫 We're Taxed Enough Already T.E.A.

San Antonio residents are already heavily taxed. We need relief, not more taxes for luxury sports facilities.
